Die Drucksensoren der Serie AMS 5812 basieren auf hochstabilen, piezoresistiven Druckmesszellen, die zusammen mit einem ASIC auf einem Keramiksubstrat montiert sind. Die Sensoren sind als Nachfolger des SM5852 mit diesem kompatibel, und besitzt einen moderneren ASIC für eine bessere Temperaturkompensation und Kalibration.
